Cont’d Rwanda Part 9

After Lake Kivu I headed far South to Nyungwe. This is an incredible natural forest that is vast and contains millions of beautiful tall trees interspersed with ferns and thick lianas hanging everywhere. It is set amongst many mist-laden hills and if you think “Tarzan” you will probably get the best idea of what I mean. It is a monkey paradise. It is here that you can find troops of chimps living in the wild but which are habituated and so live in relative ease with locals and tourists around. The waterfalls and rivers in the natural forest were clean and powerful- with tannin filled water from all the millions of plants in this luscious place.
