Cont’d Rwanda Part 6

The gorillas live in the mountainous North a three hour drive from Kigali, the string of Virunga volcanoes that range from 2500 to 4500. This primeval and beautiful rainforest is host to over half the world’s wild mountain gorillas. I loved it so much I decided to blow my entire reserve allowance funds in one shot and book to go again for a second trip the following morning. It was worth every cent of the $500 it costs for each permit. I loved the second trip even more if possible…there was the cutest baby – the smallest in all the five groups currently- at only two months old. Following  is a picture of it on mom’s back. Ah cute!
